FLORENCE, S.C. – Authorities publicly announced
yesterday morning that the rumors about the largest global coffee bean company,
Farmer’s Best Secret Inc., were in fact true.
For 50 years, Farmer’s Best Secret Inc. has been
committed to farmers all across the globe in doing business directly through
fair-trade initiatives.
“It’s who we are. It’s how we figured out our name. You could say it’s in our DNA” says Tyler Porter, longtime CEO. “As a company that holds high ethical standards in everything that we do; from production to manufacturing, to marketing and customer service, it grieves me that these incidents have occurred. Our commitment in doing fair-trade with local farmers all across the world is the basis from which this company was founded on, and the fact that we have not been doing that for the past six months is just plain wrong and disturbing.”
Authorities say that a national auditing company
took the necessary actions in analyzing the company and was able to develop a
timeline on what the incidents started to occur as well as the individuals that
made the approvals. Authorities also say that inventory is being taken and all
beans will be removed.
“We have not broken our relationship with our
farmers and look forward to getting back to work with them as soon as possible”
says Porter. “Our only other hope is that our customers will see this mistake
for what it is and believe us when we say that it will never happen again.”
Porter also stated that information is being updated
daily on all of the company’s social media sites.
